Activation of the new rates for the tax on stays in tourist establishments in Catalonia (tourist tax)
From April 1, 2026, the increase in the rates of the tax on stays in tourist establishments approved in Law 2/2026, of March 6, amending the tax on stays in tourist establishments and creating the fee for the service of management and collection of the municipal surcharge on the tax comes into force.

| Housing for tourist use (ET4) | 1,75 € + 10 % VAT* | 2,50 € + 10 % VAT* |
| Rest of establishments (ET3) | 0,90 €+ 10 % VAT* | 1,20 € + 10% VAT* |
*VAT must be added where applicable.
The regulations also allow municipalities to establish a municipal surcharge on the tourist tax.
